Christmas Is Coming

I thought my post today would be about all the Christmas baking I did on Saturday. I had my house spic and span (for the most part) and ready to go Friday night so I could get right to it on Saturday morning.

I woke Saturday morning and discovered as I walked down to the basement and dragged myself back up that my asthma had chosen that day to flare up.
For crying out loud! NOW? I do not have time for this.

I have discovered over the years however, that a strong will cannot overcome everything.

I spent most of the day resting. I felt better by the evening but the desire to bake had passed.

I did however clean and sort the last bit of the house that was still in chaos from renovating the bathrooms. Getting through the hallways downstairs was a challenge! Poor Morgan never knew what he might trip over while making a late night trip to the bathroom. Now, the whole house is ready for anything.

I'm still feeling under the weather and have napped most of the day.

I did visit the doctor this morning for both my flu shot and the last hepatitis booster.

The doctor is right next to Micheal's.

Need I say more? (Of course these cookie cutters were on sale!)

As soon as time and health permit I will be making up lots and lots of cutout cookies.

Aren't theses the cutest cookie cutters?

What are you doing to get ready for the holidays?

No Christmas plans yet. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, so I'm still in turkey mode! I'll start Christmas mode next week!
It will start by watching White Christmas while I drag out the ornaments and tree!

sorry to hear that you were feeling a little under the weather! hope you get your baking done soon...
i am not a baker, but I do like to decorate...it is hard to do this year...not even a flake on the ground...makes me wonder how those in hot climates get in the mood!

Girl, you put me to shame in the cooking department. I do know that asthma problems can sure knock the wind right out of you. Went through that spell for months this last time. And then the crazy poison ivy! I can't stay out of the garden though. Ran across a darn snake yesterday raking leaves. I don't have sense enough to stay inside and stay well like you seem to.

Well my house is almost all the way decorated. Way earlier than normal for me, but this house has such character it was just calling out to be decorated!
I also plan to do some serious baking over the next couple of weekends.

Nice! I bought a set of cookie cutters like that from Michaels last year! I got Grandma's FABULOUS recipe and you have now reminded me of that! I'm gonna go make some soon! Perhaps we'll be coming up just before Christmas - I'll bring some with me if we do!
