Jada

My dear friend Jada managed to find and consume the entire carcass of a rotisserie chicken sometime last night.

We all know what chicken bones can do the a dog's insides.

The vet tells me that blockage, tearing, and vomiting are the things to watch for over the next four days or so.

Henry is on a two day hunting trip so I'll be quietly freaking out by myself.

The vet told me that dogs eat bones all the time and nothing happens, but, every once in a while. . .

I'm off to pick up canned dog food to add to her regular diet which can help smooth things along. She's going to be thrilled.

She's seems perfectly fine at the moment and I'm praying she stays that way.

Hope she's okay! We certainly know what it's like to worry about a dog... Our dogs eat cooked bones all the time, just not chicken. They do eat RAW chicken bones, though, which are no problem at all. :o)

You think you're done worrying about some things when your kids are grown and than come the animals !!! they worry us almost as much. :o) can't do without them though!

Poor Jada; I'll send you both positive thoughts! That is a lovely name, when you give us an update, please tell how you came up with that name!

Hope Jada gets through it unscathed.

Oh me too! I worry so over my silly dogs. They do the craziest things and knock my world for a loop. But I love them so! Hopefully Jada will "digest" the bones and they move along where they're destined to go.

Bless her heart, that rotten pooch! I hope everything comes out fine, literally. When our yellow lab was a pup, he found an empty can of corn in the trash that still barely had it's lid on. It was on there enough to be stuck when he stuck his tongue in the can. Off he went to the vet to somehow get it off. The vet pulled and said it was stuck on there. duh. . . Anywho, he was fine. Has a scar, but all was well.

Hey, can I add you to my facebook? If so, my email is we4ap@comcast.net. Gracias, Chica.

Uh oh! Hopefully she'll be ok. I mean if Pebbles can survive it, I'm sure Jada will pull through. Afterall, she is MUCH bigger than Pebbles!

Oh MAN! I'd better give you a call and see how you're going. This new development is just a real bummer!

Tell Jada I love her.....well, in my "I'm scared to death of dogs" kind of way :)

I'll be praying along with you. Those darn dogs and oh how we love them so. My Jake was constantly eating things of ill repute. Here's hoping Jada has his same iron constitution. Wink. Lovely new greenhouse ! cheers from Nova Scotia

I have been through this with my little Boston. I feed scraps to the chickens and she helped herself. She ended up being fine, but I was so worried. Judging by the size of your dog, I'd guess that it will pass them fine and be OK. Hopefully she didn't gobble them up whole or something. I'll say prayers for you and the pooch.
