Be Still My Beating Heart!

Many trees came down in a rather violent storm a couple of weeks ago.

Our neighbour Theresa flagged Henry down as he drove past her place, while coming home from work.

Her little red wagon was loaded down with logs from the trees her neighbour had cut up.

"Henry, open up that truck of yours and take what you can!"

I wish I had gotten a picture of just how enormous all those logs were!

I did however get an excellent shot of my hubby chopping up those logs.

Be still my beating heart!

Just check out those muscles!

I ran and checked my Storey's Country Skills book on the proper way to stack wet wood.

I'm rather proud of the job I did.

That wood will make for some great nights by the fire pit next year. . .

That's a way to make a good situation out of a bad one :) And the picture of Henry chopping wood is just PERFECT. I always thought he looked like a lumberjack!

Can we come sit by that fire?

That storm missed us but we heard it was quite violent in the city. Have fun around the fire pit, we would use the wood in the fireplace to warm us in the winter :-)
My Henry uses ends from the projects at work, so his idea of cutting wood is using his saw lol.

"I'm a lumberlack and I'm ok. I work all night and I sleep all day..."

I don't think Henry's the same kind of lumberjack as the Monty Python crew.

Great job on your salvaging and stacking!
