It's still cold out (-32c), but the time for complaining has passed. My oven was fixed this week, so yesterday evening I tried out two new cookie recipes: chocolate chip (Martha Stewart) and brown sugar oatmeal. Yum.
This morning, before I left for my hair appointment, I popped a coffee cake in the oven so it would be ready for you when you dropped by.
Let's bring back afternoon tea. . .
When you could sit and visit with a friend, solve the world's problems, and yours while you were at it!
I could sure use a visit like that more often
So. . .
Pull up a chair and I'll pour you a cup of tea.
Would you like cream or sugar with that? How about a slice of coffee cake? A cookie?
How are things going?
How are the kids?
What do you think of my new haircut? Poor Henry was roped into taking my picture. Again and again. Poor soul! I didn't like any of them so I let him pick one. I only look a little goofy.( I won't tell you what he said to make me laugh this way!)
Read any good books lately? I've just finished Francine Rivers 'Redeeming Love' It took me a while to get into it but in the end it was a very inspiring and comforting book. (Thanks Evelyn V. it was a very thoughtful gift.)
I'm hoping to start a quilt soon. There is a good sale on at the fabric store. Now all I have to do is pick a pattern. (and learn how to quilt!)
I did pick up fabric that I'm going to make into an apron using an old one I found at a thrift store as a pattern.
Oh... did I tell you that I am designing a garden for some aquaintences of mine? I need to have the rough draft finished soon. This is my inspiration wall. . .
Life is good!
Well. . . I don't know about you, but I've got laundry to do and furniture to dust, (and bathrooms to scrub ugh!). I do love the feeling I get, when the house has been scrubbed from top to bottom, I've put clean sheets on the bed, and the goodies for Sunday coffee have been made.
Drop by for tea again soon.

You are too busy. How do you have time for tea? I've just baked two big pans of squares and will have a nap with the smell of chocolate filling the house and the kids away at the grandparents.

I'll have tea with a splash of cream please, coffee cake and cookies...mmmm :). You have a wonderful blog, I thought it was cold in Minnesota but you win!
Kathi :)
I wish I could stop in! Wouldn't that be just wonderful? I'm not sure that I could handle all that cold weather that you get....maybe you should stop in at my place instead :)
Rosa, I quilted, before I had some hand surgeries and the arthritis set in there. I started about 1990 and made one for each daughter when they graduated highschool, and have made quite a few. They come in handy on cold nights and make the house look homey. I love your tea pic. So elegant. Do learn to quilt. It's quite therapeutic! I hand-pieced most of mine and hand quilted also. Good luck!
